Life in Music
Music has always been a major part of my life, so naturally my life can be defined by what music I was listening to at the time. I will listen to my music on shuffle and say “Oh, I remember listening to this in [insert random moment in time here]”. Thus a definitive list of my life in music is born!
Fall 2018
Shawn Mendes album (I listened to this on repeat while suffering through my online algebra assignments)
Youngblood - 5SOS album (I listened to this for the first time packing for winter break!)
Oye Como Va - Tito Puente (this was discovered during my World Music class and my roommate and I would listen to it over and over again)
Duck Tails theme song (again, my roommate and I have weird taste in music I guess)
Killer Queen - 5SOS
Polaroid - Jonas Blue, Liam Payne & Lennon Stella
Fine - Spencer Sutherland (I would listen to this song on repeat at least 15 times in a row)
Shotgun - George Ezra (My dad got me into this song)
Still New York - MAX and Joey Bada$$
8 Letters (album) - Why Don’t We (the beginning of a lovely obsession)
Happier - Marshmello (DO NOT watch this music video, whatever you do)
Have It All - Jason Mraz (This is a super specific memory but I was listening to this walking to Centennial Hall and it put me in such a good mood which algebra class ruined immediately)
LANY (album) - LANY
Spring 2019
Dan and Shay - all albums (but I like the Obsessed album the best I think)
Unbelievable - Why Don’t We (the best WDW song to date, I will fight people on this)
Don’t Change - Why Don’t We
Phases - PRETTYMUCH (I remember many cold mornings at 7 am walking to Chemistry and listening to this on repeat)
If I Can’t Have You - Shawn Mendes (I remember driving to surprise our best friend at his college graduation and blasting this song with the windows down, such a fun day!)
Look What God Gave Her - Thomas Rhett (I have a specific memory of driving to Walmart with my roommate and choosing this song to listen to)
Someone to You - BANNERS (this song was used in After and I saw that with my roommate and another friend during Block Party weekend)
NIKES - Jake Miller
Here With Me - Marshmello feat. CHVRCHES (I listened to this one so much that my roommate actually banned me from listening to it around her because she was so sick of it)
Love Me Less - MAX & Quinn XCII
Who Do You Love - The Chainsmokers & 5SOS
I Don’t Belong In This Club - Why Don’t We & Macklemore (pretty sure there’s a video of me singing this song very poorly 😂)
comethru - Jeremy Zucker (feat. Bea Miller)
Cody Simpson - all new albums (this obsession started after I saw him in Anastasia on a trip to New York and I’m now in love, he has such a summer vibe in all of his newer music)
Fall 2019 (aka worst semester everrr)
Kill My Mind - Louis Tomlinson (anxiously waiting for Walls to release!!)
Yellow Hearts - Ant Saunders (courtesy of TikTok)
Fine Line (album) - Harry Styles (my roommate became obsessed with Watermelon Suger so I thought she would become obsessed like me - thought wrong; the video for Adore You dropped and I watched it while getting ready one morning to which my roommate said “What the heck are you watching?”)
Ophelia - The Lumineers (TikTok again, I might be obsessed)
5SOS - Sounds Good Feels Good album and Teeth (this semester made me feel angsty and SGFG definitely helps with that)
Colors (EP) - Jacob Whitesides (I may have cried out of pride listening to this the first time which was as soon as it was released)
What Am I - Why Don’t We (changed my mind, this is the best WDW song)
Next to Normal soundtrack (watched a bootleg of this on YouTube and cried)
Flicker (album) - Niall Horan (I’m a bad fan but I just now listened to this album...oops. It was on repeat studying in the library for finals with my roommate)
Put a Little Love on Me - Niall Horan
Nice to Meet Ya - Niall Horan (this song excited me because he speaks French and the only class I enjoyed this semester was French so)
Suburban Girl - Lostboycrow (I jam hard to this song, I was listening to a chill playlist while doing laundry and that’s how I discovered this song)
10,000 Hours - Dan and Shay (I also listened to this one on repeat as soon as it came out, along with Kill My Mind)
Mother - Charlie Puth (I saw this king in concert and he will forever be one of my favs)
Things That We Drink To - Morgan Wallen (I discovered him on a band bus ride back from Shippensburg University and I fell in love with this Australian country singer)
Aaand during winter break I have been listening to High School Musical: The Musical: The Series which I was ready to hate but I’m actually in love with!
Spring 2020 - aka Corona Virus University
Goldfish Crackers - Good Revere (best TikTok dance everrrr, my roommate and I are obsessed with it and we do it together a lot, even if it is just over FaceTime)
Heartbreak Weather (album) - Niall Horan (so so amazing, I could listen to it over and over for the rest of my life which may or not be happening)
CALM (album) - 5 Seconds of Summer (again, great album and have it on repeat)
Common Sense - Joshua Basset (cute, cute song from a cute, cute boy)
IDK You Yet - Alexander 23 (another really cute song)
Starry - (this is a musical based on the life of Vincent Van Gogh, sounds a little bizarre but I promise it’s incredible! Dillon Klena is part of the team now although he didn’t sing on the actual recording)
Whistler - Kathryn Gallagher (she’s part of the Jagged Little Pill company on Broadway and she’s so good!)
Jasper Avenue - CaRter (vibeeees)
Little Women Soundtrack - (all instrumental and I’ve written many an English paper/Genetics paper to it)
Intentions - Justin Bieber feat. Quavo (I only know a few words but that doesn’t stop me from vibing as hard as I possibly can!)
Sunday Best - Surfaces (another TikTok song but it is so so good and gets stuck in my head. Bonus is that I can do the dance!)
Winter Hurts (EP) - Jacob Whitesides (another banging album from my dude! Go check it out if you haven’t already!)
Beautiful Soul - Jesse McCartney (this has always been my favorite song but it now has so much more meaning to me because it was Corey La Barrie’s favorite too. Rest in Paradise bud<3)
Hedwig and the Angry Inch album (specifically the Riverdale cast album, some may say it’s cringey but I loved it! - “Here’s to Ronnie...”)
Fall 2020
Fallin’ - Why Don’t We (such an amazing group of guys that are finally producing music that is 100% them! I’m really looking forward to seeing the rest of their album because if it is anything like this then it is about to break the charts)
Julie and the Phantoms Cast Album (OH MY GOSH I need to make a post with all of my JATP thoughts because this show has so many layers that make it absolutely incredible. There are no skips on the album AT ALL)
Hold Me Down - Jacob Whitesides (This is his best song by far and I streamed it for about 24 hours straight so my boy could rack up his streams on Spotify 😌)
mama’s boy - LANY (another amazing album by them! My favorite differs from day to day but currently it is (what i wish just one person would say to me))
Lotus Inn - Why Don’t We (This is such a feel-good song and honestly I’ve listened to it so many times and am still not tired of it at all. The music video is incredible and it was another of Corey’s favorite songs <3)
evermore - Taylor Swift (holy cow, this girl is amazing! My favorite is happiness, tolerate it, and gold rush!)
Wonder - Shawn Mendes album (so many cute love songs and Monster with Justin Bieber is sooo good!)
Almost Maybes - Jordan Davis

@maplesyrupao3 tagged me in a thing 500 years ago and I’m finally makin good on it, y’all!!!
10 Songs I’m currently rockin’ out to:
“Monday Morning” - Fleetwood Mac | This song is such a great kick-off to a great album. It’s one of my favorites to listen to during my morning commute n_n
“Bad Girls” - Donna Summer | I’ve been on a disco kick lately. BEEP BEEP! TOOT TOOT. BEEP BEEP! Such fun.
“Drunk in LA” - Beach House | I love the new album and I can’t get enough of this song. Like I’m at a loss for words at how to describe it?? Trippy eerie hazy vibes??
“Summertime Rolls” - Jane’s Addiction | Summertime is indeed rolling here in Florida and this song is, to me, the soundtrack to feeling lazy in the sweltering heat and not wanting to move aka #FloridaGothic. Anyway Jane’s Addiction RULES everyone else droolz
“Fast Slow Disco” - St. Vincent | If you’ve been following me for any significant duration of time over the past 2-3 years, you know that Annie Clark Owns This Ass. I already loved “Slow Disco”, and this uptempo version fuckin’ slaps!!1!
“Street Player” - Chicago | Y’all I’m going to see Chicago next month I’m fuckin PUMPED
“Sabotage” - Beastie Boys | My brothers and I were having a heated game of Mario Party 2 the other day and declared this the “Stealing Someone’s Star” theme
“I Fall Apart” - Rory Gallagher | this bluesy irish b is finally on Spotify y’all!!!!!
“Loud Love” - Soundgarden | big sexy riff. big sexy voice. big sexy fun.
“Das Letzte Streichholz” - OOMPH! | idk man these guys can write a hook, ok??
Tagging... @winterswanderlust, @madasateacup, @evilsnowswan, @ianbrunner, @nerdrumple, @wixley-kryptonese, @imgilmoregirl, @galactic-pirates, and/or anybody else who sees this and thinks it looks fun

Vincent Price marathon Day 11: The Comedy of Terrors (1963/1964?)
An undertaker and his assistant, who have been killing people off to keep their business running, find themselves in trouble when one of their victims seemingly comes back from the dead.
Oh my. I think I actually prefer Vincent in comedies given his track record. He was superb. Probably another one of my favourite characters of his here as a morally corrupt undertaker that is driven only by money and decadence (with a real Frank Gallagher vibe to him). Vincent just lets loose completely with his comedic abilities and had me in stitches most of the time.
Also, Boris Karloff and Peter Lorre co-starring again? They must have watched The Raven and saw big money. Boris as the senile old father of Vincent's on screen wife is a farcry from his other roles but he executed it perfectly.
Honestly I'm surprised Roger Corman didn't direct this film, it is so similar a style to his work. Awesome effort 👌

BRITSE INVASIE
3 bands in 1 week. 3 reviews die 1 geheel vormen.
Hookworms, Brussel 2018 Slaves, Gent 2018 IDLES, Brussel 2018
HOOKWORMS
De elektronica kreeg vrij spel en de band presenteerde voor het eerst op de avond een dansbaar geluid met makkelijk meezingbare refreinen (“I wanna know if we were like that / I wanna know if it's how we'll die / Thirty years and thirty questions / But now you can’t reply” uit “Ullswater” krijg ik de eerste dagen niet meer uit mijn hoofd.)
De vrij absurde tekst van “Where’s Your Car, Debbie?” werd vooraf uitvoerig geanalyseerd: “this song goes like this: ‘where’s your car, Debbie? / Debbie, where’s your car? / is it far, Debbie? / Debbie, is it far?’ It’s a song about Debbie not finding her car. I wrote it myself.” Heerlijk. Waarop Isaac reageerde met “Fuck The Hi-Hat”.
Vluchtelingencrisis? Het opzwepende “Danny Nedelko” is het perfecte antwoord (“my blood brother is an immigrant!”), een verbindend nummer dat UNITY predikt. Brexit? Toxische mannelijkheid? “Samaritans” verklaart waarom dit fenomeen ervoor zorgt dat mannen vatbaarder zijn voor een depressie dan vrouwen: “man up / sit down / chin up / pipe down / socks up / don’t cry / drink up / just lie / grow some balls, he said / grow some balls” wordt hen namelijk aangeleerd van jongs af aan. Ook de cover van Solomon Burke’s “Cry To Me” behoort tot deze categorie: “well here I am, boy / cry to me!”
On se voit là-bas.

Preme ft. Post Malone – Jackie Chan (tarro remix) | Free Download
We’ve heard dozens of Post Malone remixes but one of the finest has just arrived from none other than beartrap producer Tarro. For his latest remix, Tarro swerves his dark, ominous bass lines, trap infested snares, and twisting, echoing synths around Posty’s “Jackie Chan”, building it up into an classic Tarro banger. This is definitely one of our favorite Tarro remixes to date.
Brian Fresco – Higher (feat. Chance The Rapper & Blue Hawaii) [Just A Gent Remix] | Stream
Remix giant Just A Gent, know for his massive remixes of NGHTMRE, Illenium, Kill Paris, and more, has just unveiled yet another banging flip. Taking on Brian Fresco‘s “Higher”, which features Chance The Rapper and Blue Hawaii, Just A Gent unleashes an earthy future trap remix that is even better than the original. Chilling, dark synths drape Chance’s iconic vocals while rumbling, crisp percussion gives the track this R&B sultriness. This is one of Just A Gent’s finest remixes yet.
Robotaki – Satisfied ft. City Fidelia (Madnap Remix) | Free Download
Madnap has been blasting this summer with glittery, golden remixes of Kill Paris’ “Red Lights” and Win and Woo’s “Chasing Tail” and now he’s back as part of Robotaki‘s Science remix EP. Twinkling synths sparkle around the bubbly pitched vocals and witty percussion, bringing a lush pop vibe to Robotaki’s “Satisfied”. Yet another stellar remix from young Madnap.
Illenium & Said The Sky – Where’d U Go (Thoreau Rework) | Stream
Thoreau is one of our favorite new artists so it was amazing to find him tapped to remix Illenium and Said The Sky‘s “Where’d U Go”. Colorful synth stabs instantly bring an upbeat, melodic nature to the track before dropping into a wild, eccentric future bass break. This is one of those remixes that would so easily slide into any DJ set. Check out the full Awake remix pack here.
Billie Eilish – Ocean Eyes (Naderi Remix) | Stream
Following his fire hot mix with Annie Nightingale on BBC Radio 1, Naderi is back and ready to give you an eargasm with his latest remix of Billie Eilish’s “Ocean Eyes.”  Offering a fresh take on one of Billie Eilish’s early originals, Naderi adds his Midas touch to original, elevating it with airy synths and lush piano chords.  Eilish’s ethereal voice soars as the track builds into an explosion of future bass goodness at the drop. – Peach Gallagher
Anne-Marie – 2002 (BKAYE Remix) | Stream
From The Chainsmokers to Post Malone, BKAYE always knocks it out of the park when it comes to remixes. For his latest, BKAYE has put his spin on Snakehips and Marshmello collaborator Anne-Marie‘s “2002”, turning it into a breezy dance pop hit. Bright percussion rock against the summery guitar strums before bursting into a dance pop haven filled with bubbly vocal chops and colorful synth stabs. BKAYE’s “2002” remix is a vibrant pop-infested jam absolutely perfect for summertime.
William Black X Rico & Miella – Here At Last (neutral. Remix) | Stream
Making his debut on Lowly Palace, rising remixer neutral. has returned with one of his finest remixes to date. He’s stepped up to remix William Black and Rico & Miella‘s “Here At Last”, flawlessly spinning his EDM pop soundscape around the track. Bursting synths dance around the sultry vocals and deep, electrifying bass stabs, creating a drop that would explode on any dance floor. This one is a banger for sure.
Sweater Beats – Faded Away (feat. Icona Pop) [Kuur Remix] | Stream
New favorites Kuur have certainly caught our eye with their remixes of The Chainsmokers’s “Sick Boy” and Robotaki and Manila Killa’s “I Want You”. Now they’re back with one of our favorite remixes to date, flawlessly spinning Sweater Beats‘ “Faded Away” into a glorious dance pop heaven. They darken Sweater Beats‘ bubbly Icona Pop feature single with grungy bass lines and booming percussion, while skillfully maintaining its original fun and flirty energy. Kuur have definitely ones to keep an eye on this year.
Alison Wonderland – Easy (Kaivon Remix) | Stream
Kaivon is easily become a new favorite especially after this remix. The rising producer has been enlisted as part of Alison Wonderland‘s latest remix pack for “Easy” and Kaivon definitely shines. The LA producer wraps the opening in this anthemic, ethereal trap before diving into a dance-crazed future bass drop. It’s no surprise that AW chose to add this one to her official pack.
Bronze Whale – Warm (LMBO Remix) | Free Download
Bronze Whale‘s original melted our hearts whole with its bittersweet atmosphere and up and coming duo LMBO have certainly caught our eye with their remix. With a great track comes even greater responsibility and LMBO takes the challenge head-on. Their rendition expands on the origins pace in an attempt to connect with the listener. The lighthearted sound design allows you to get lost in the production and let every second of it transcend you to a happier state of mind. Following the release of “Dysphoria“, it looks like the potential is settling for this Michigan based duo. – Omar Serrano
Louis The Child – Better Not Ft. Wafia (INZO Remix) | Free Download
Though not a part of Louis The Child‘s official “Better Not” remix pack, INZO‘s remix is definitely one of our favorites. The Chicago producer brings this atmospheric, uplifting vibe to the track with spiraling tracks zooming around deep bass stabs and snappy percussion. INZO has certainly stepped up with his “Better Not” remix.
Flume – Insane (Divinite Remix) | Free Download
Newcomer Divinite has certainly impressed with his debut remix. Its a heavy task taking on Flume and Divinite does it majestically, draping “Insane” dark, sinister bass and echoing vocal chops before going into a full throttle, energy packed drop. Divinite is definitely one to keep an eye on.

Hyperallergic: After Another Artists’ Enclave in Williamsburg Is Sold, Tenants Live in Uncertainty
Tenant values on display at 475 Kent in 2008 (photo by Jami/Flickr)
David Alan Harvey was out of the country when he learned he was being evicted from his South Williamsburg apartment.
Harvey, 73, has lived and worked in his loft at 475 Kent Avenue for more than a decade. A member of venerable photo agency Magnum Photos, Harvey constantly travels the world shooting for magazines such as National Geographic, and has had his work shown in the Corcoran Gallery, and the Museum of Modern Art in New York, while lecturing budding shutterbugs about the trade.
When Harvey came back in May from Mexico, where he had been shooting for his next photo book about rustic beach settings, he found a notice taped to his door. The note indicated he had to leave the premises in the coming months because he spent less than half the year living there.
Harvey was not surprised about his eviction, since deep-pocketed developers bought the building for $56 million in February. “As soon as the building was sold I figured this was over,” he said. “The time was just up. They want to raise the rent.”
Tenants protesting being removed from the building in 2008 (photo by iheart475kent/Flickr)
Artist lofts often take the moniker of the business that occupied their space before them, but most are simply known by their addresses. For example, there is the Pencil Factory in Greenpoint, Industry City in Sunset Park, 1717 Troutman in Bushwick, 56 Bogart in Williamsburg, and 66 West in Greenpoint.
Some of these lofts take on mythic qualities.
Andy Warhol’s iconic studio, The Factory, which was at one point located on East 16th Street and Union Square West, doubled as a hangout for fellow artists and celebrities. The Gretsch Building, once a 10-story factory that made guitars and drums, housed scores of artists before developers Martin and Edward Wydra bought it in late 2001 and converted it to condos. The complex has become one of the most desirable locations in Williamsburg.
Four blocks away from the Gretsch, on the edge of a Hasidic Orthodox enclave sits an 11-story former pasta factory known as 475 Kent. The building’s cast concrete and rebar components were typical of many industrial warehouses built in the early 20th century. The first wave of artists priced out of Manhattan moved into the building in 1998, knocking cinderblocks out of the wall and installing casement windows themselves.
The building’s charmingly ramshackle conditions fostered a close-knit community of visual artists, photographers, musicians, authors, and other creative professionals.

Sculptor Deborah Masters once used a crane to lift her work that would be installed at JFK’s Terminal 4 through an open window in her studio.
Author Jami Attenberg, who wrote the best-selling novel The Middlesteins set her latest book All Grown Up in the loft, as a love letter to the building.
War photojournalist Tim Hetherington, whose documentary Restrepo was nominated for an Academy Award, lived there before he was killed while working in Libya in 2011.
Even Bill Murray rented a summer sublet in 2013 while he was shooting the film St. Vincent.
475 Kent (photo by David Gallagher/Flickr)
Life in a former factory meant regular visits from building inspectors to determine whether conditions were up to code. The city made tenants leave 475 Kent for four months in 2008 when the fire department found two silos of grain used to make matzoh in the basement.
But the rising property values of nearby lots attracted investors. The building’s Kent Avenue neighbors, which had been the Schaefer Brewery, the Domino Sugar Factory, and a bevy of smaller warehouses were converted one by one to luxury condo complexes with names like “The Oosten” and designed by renowned architects like ODA’s Eran Chen. And so investors Shlomo Meichor and Assi Arev of the Israel-based firm Gaia Investment Group purchased 475 Kent from Nachman Brach for $56 million in February.
Gaia, which has ties to Israeli billionaires Raz and Beny Steinmetz, has invested heavily in Kushner Companies, the real estate firm owned by President Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, but their footprint in the city remains small. In this case, Gaia partnered with developer Copperline Partners run by the wealthy Miami-based Schlesinger family, to manage the property.

Tenants began receiving certified letters in March notifying them that the building had been sold. Termination letters went out to some tenants on Memorial Day weekend while others received notices that their privileges were being revoked. “They were sending out notices to scare people and offer them some buyout number, around two years of rent equivalent for the rights to their apartment,” said Andrew Ohanesian, an artist who received a letter claiming that he could no longer park his truck in a parking space near the freight elevator.
However, many longtime residents should be safe from harassment.
Tenants applied and received coverage three years ago under the 2010 expansion of the loft law, which extended rental protections to residents living in warehouses for any consecutive twelve month period from January 1, 2008 through December 31, 2009. Their rent would remain stabilized regardless of who purchased the building in the future.
But the state law has several loopholes.
Subtenants do not have the same rights as those on the unit’s lease, even if they live in the premises for several years. Tenants must be physically present in their apartment for more than half the year in order for it to be considered their primary residence. And those who rented out their units on Airbnb found themselves in hot water with their new landlord.
The new owners have already cleared out about 25 percent of the 475 Kent’s residents —  mostly subtenants — and are trying to remove others. About half the building is preparing to defend their rights to stay, tenants say. “What we have here is a vertical village that grew organically and that’s something worth holding onto,” said video artist Eve Sussman, one of the building’s earliest tenants. “This is about whether we care that artists stay in New York, and how hard we are going to fight about it.” Her husband, artist and fellow longtime tenant Simon Lee summarized the issues this way: “The cultural life of the city is being eroded and that is what is at stake here.”
Eve Sussman (r.) and an unnamed friend while Eve was working on installing windows at 475 Kent in 1998 (courtesy Eve Sussman)
Other longtime residents worry the character of their loft and the neighborhood will change for the worse as the new owners refurbish empty units for affluent inhabitants. “What’s happened here is when artists moved out of 475 they were replaced by other artists moving in, and now when artists move out investment bankers will be moving in,” said writer and longtime tenant Guy Lesser.
Harvey wanted to remain at 475 Kent and contest the eviction but found he had little ground. “The loft law doesn’t protect me in this particular case, and I’ve looked at it from every legal standpoint,” he said. “I talked with different attorneys who said you have to prove you were there with credit card records, plane tickets, and restaurant receipts.”
Harvey will miss the building. He’s planning to move out by October. “It was always kind of a renegade building that doesn’t exist in New York anymore,” he said. “It was a really good atmosphere. If you’re there, it had a good vibe going.”
Future generations of photographers, painters, and video artists would be so lucky to find these kinds of places in New York. Harvey’s advice: set up shop elsewhere.
475 Kent at night (photo by Aaron Short)
“Where do the struggling young photographers go? Don’t go to New York. The minute it becomes a rich person’s town it’s all over anyway,” he said. “People are going to LA; Atlanta; Marfa, Texas; Richmond, Virginia; Sicily. You have to go out and shoot your pictures in other places anyway.”

Another film Where I Am Far from the Target Audience Yet            I admit that I have to credit an online article titled 10 Must See Movies For Screenwriters by Dave Trottier for giving me an idea to watch this The Player film (after I entered a google search of movies about screenwriters). The film has a multitude of celebrities in it; Whoopi Goldberg,  Gina Gershon,Anjelica Houston, Julia Roberts, Lyle Lovett, Cher, Fred Ward, Peter Gallagher,Dina Merrill, Andie Macdowell, Jeff Goldblum Bruce Willis, Jeremy Priven, Nick Nolte, Gary Busey, Teri Garr,Lily Tomlin, Burt Reynolds, Susan Sarandon, John Cusack, Richard Grant, Robert Dean Stockwell, and many more celebrity appearances. However, significant plot points of the film center around the character of Griffin Mill (Tim Robbins), a hotshot Hollywood Executive whose world is unintentionally turned upside down after he loses his temper with writer/author David Kahane (Vincent D’Onofrio). Griffin Mill is shown being pretty distant with a multiple number of even his professional colleagues. Even his girlfriend from work Bonnie Sherow (Cynthia Stevenson) is not treated much differently from Griffin’s coworkers. However, part of Griffin Mill’s humanity is exposed when he is seen communicating with June Gudmundsdottir (Greta Scachi). That sounds innocent enough until the viewer realizes that she was romantically connected to writer/author David Kahane. 100 Greatest '90s Alternative Songs Price: $0.00 A Worthwhile Collection To Listen To if You Like 90’s Rock Music, April 20, 2017 This review is from: 100 Greatest '90s Alternative Songs (MP3 Music)I unintentionally came across this music collection from Amazon’s playlist of 100 Greatest '90s Alternative Songs and I am very glad to have done so. I can easily enjoy this type of song year round. However, for some reason, this song gives me a summer type of vibe when I hear it. Additionally,Reid discusses and her feelings on a multitude of various celebrities that she met and more. Some of the celebrities that Reid admits to have spotted during her time of employment as a flight attendant; Rod Stewart, Sylvester Stallone,Dom Deluise, Elizabeth Taylor, Jack Nicholson,Tom Cruise, the late former President Ronald Reagan, etc. Comment | Permalink Writing with the Muse: A Guidebook to Conscious Creativity (Intuition University) Price: $7.99 Outside The Box Writing Guidance, April 21, 2017 Verified Purchase(What's this?)This review is from: Writing with the Muse: A Guidebook to Conscious Creativity (Intuition University) (Kindle Edition)
This kindlebook of Writing with the Muse: A Guidebook to Conscious Creativity (Intuition University) by Sara Wiseman accidently came to me by lucky chance. I had seen the kindlebook for Demons of Confusion: Rituals To Hide the Truth, Create Confusion, and Conceal Your Actions by Corwin Hargrove. Even with my intuitive and logical awareness that it helps to integrate both knowledge from spiritual white light and darkness to strengthen my spiritual core, I did not yet feel ready to purchase that book. However, as my soul/spirit craves truth from non-biased  and non-judgmental sources, I fortunately came across this kindlebook of Writing With the Muse by Sara Wiseman as a way to help me gain clarity on my creativity as it pertains to my writing goals. Some of the one of a kind tidbits in this kindlebook; the three trances that she writes are the flow states for creative writing, ideally working by hand to keep a journal in relation to ideas for whatever medium of artistic creation that a person is undertaking as she also addresses artists and musicians, asking yourself if you are willing to press forward in your writing passion regardless of publishing outcome (an easy question for me to answer as I do feel called to writing regardless of the outcome even though I understand it may sound arrogant to others, yet I understand that others may only want to write with regards to a guarantee of profitable andor lucrative outcomes). I admit that I liked that Wiseman encouraged a person to give themselves permission to press on with a project deadline date in relation to one of the ideas in her container suggestion. This encouraging guidance was important for me to come across as I work to improve my writing for creative writing therapy as well while also simultaneously working on my employment goals. Wiseman also gives ideas for having containers open for smaller projects such as articles from magazines, doing art for fun, lyrics from songs etc.
Comment | Permalink Long Story Short: The Only Storytelling Guide You'll Ever Need Offered by Penguin Random House Publisher Services Price: $9.99 Candid and Helpful, April 21, 2017 Verified Purchase(What's this?)This review is from: Long Story Short: The Only Storytelling Guide You'll Ever Need (Kindle Edition)This kindlebook of Long Story Short: The Only Storytelling Guide You'll Ever Need by Margot Leitman captures some of the author’s experiences as it relates to her ideas for storytelling. Leitman also bluntly admits that some people wishing to spice up their writing may want to live a life in a way that is a little riskier without venturing too much in the danger zone. I admit that this advice was a splash of cold water to my face (metaphorically speaking) because I am blessed with an abundance of free time and a loving husband who is supportive of my writing goals. However, I am in the process of learning and implementing in taking risks in various areas of my life in a harm-free manner. Reitman also bluntly shares that some of the best writing comes from writers who have successfully found a way to put imperfections in their writings with just the right amount of happy scenarios/endings. Reitman politely gives examples of working with very religious people who wanted to create stories with very few imperfections in them. She tactfully explains that this in on the similar extreme of gifted writers who may want to only focus on the dark sides/challenging outcomes with benefiting from more positive outcome additions to their stories and more tidbits. I admit that I am still in the process of working on that angle due to my intuitive and logical awareness that the outcome to a person’s imperfections/flaws is sometimes indirectly influenced by how much outside the mainstream a writer/author is. In other words, even I know that two authors can expose similar imperfections in their writings, but the harsh truth is that I have picked up on and seen is that sometimes the person who is most celebrated for being true to themselves fits into the mainstream ideal in some way when it comes to their attractiveness, personality, intelligence, the family background that they came from etc. In contrast, I have seen examples of people who exposed their flaws in a harm-free manner and were not met with the same support from others in their circle (family, friends)and/orevenmisunderstood/demonized. Comment | Permalink Aftersight Price: $4.99 A Moving and Spiritual Story, April 21, 2017 Verified Purchase(What's this?)This review is from: Aftersight (Kindle Edition)I admit that it is too personal for me to share how I came across this Aftersight kindlebook by Brian Mercer. The Aftersight story shares how one young woman’s life was dramatically changed after a life changing car accident. Her sensitivity to the spiritual/afterlife realms are heightened yet her relationship with her parents is not the same after the incident. Her parents still love her, yet for example her dad admits to her that he would like his old daughter back that existed prior to the car accident. Comment | Permalink The Intern DVD Price: $9.99 I’m Far From the Target Audience For This Film Yet, April 21, 2017 Verified Purchase(What's this?)This review is from: The Intern (Amazon Video)I admit that I remember being intrigued to eventually watch the Intern film after seeing an article online related to some public relations managers being inspired by the Intern film to hire some older women in real-life as interns (women in their 40’s, 50’s etc.). I admit that this film metaphorically jumped out at me to eventually purchase and watch, which was well worth is for some of the multiple reasons; Anne Hathaway as the character Jules Ostin is shown in an empowering light doing her best to juggle her career and personal life with her husband Matt (Anders Holm) and daughter Paige (Jo Jo Kushner). Ostin is in charge of a successful/thriving business that adds on more people such as Ben Whitaker (Robert Deniro), Davis ( Zack Pearlman), Doris (Celia Weston) etc. Ben becomes popular at the workplace and is seen interacting a lot with Jules Ostin, Jason (Adam Devine), Becky (Christina Scherer) etc. Ben meets and is instantly smitten with the in house massage therapist Fiona (Rene Russo). One of Ben’s lady friends Patty (Linda Lavin) figures this out and expresses her reaction when Ben is shown taking Fiona to a funeral for the first date. Some of the multiple pop culture references in the film which I admit I noticed in the film due to my interest in advertising/marketing trends; JayZ and Beyonce referenced in the film, Stella Artois beer, Sammy Davis, Billy Holiday, Clancy, Harry Potter, Ocean’s film series starring Brad Pitt as Rusty Yates, George Clooney, Matt Damon, Julia Roberts, snippets of a song featured in the film by KC and the Sunshine Band, snippets of a song being played by Busta Rhymes, Teddy’s Bar & Grill, a brief clip of the Singing in the Rain film etc. Comment | Permalink Buying the View Season 1 Price: $16.99 Fun To Watch, April 21, 2017 Verified Purchase(What's this?)This review is from: Buying the View Season 1 (Amazon Video)I admit that this series of Buying The View Season 1 caught my attention because it seemed similar to another show that I find to be fun to watch from the episodes that I have watched (Lottery Dream Home). The first episode opens with a couple being shown different properties in Miami Florida. The second features a couple being shown different properties around Whistler BC (which appears to be in a similar location featured in Timber Creek Lodge Season 1). One of the strong features of the collection is that the hits are included from different eras of the 2000’s such as; Viva La Vida by Coldplay (2008), Heaven song featured by Bruno Mars (2012), Born This Way by Lady Gaga (2011), Fancy by Iggy Azalea Charli XCX (2014), Lollipop by Lil Wayne (2008), Low by Flo Rida feat. T. Pain (2007), I Gotta Feeling by the Black Eyed Peas (2009), Timber by Pitbull feat. Kesha (2013), Roar by Katy Perry (2013), Happy by Pharrell Williams (2013) etc. Comment | Permalink NOW That's What I Call 90s Pop Price: $7.99 A Variety of Quality Songs, April 20, 2017 Verified Purchase(What's this?)This review is from: NOW That's What I Call 90s Pop (MP3 Music)This music collection of NOW That's What I Call 90s Pop features a decent selection of tunes from various artists representing the 90’s music genre. I admit that these songs are some tunes that I enjoy a lot from this collection; Genie In A Bottle by Christina Aguilera, The Boy is Mine by Monica & Brandy, Whatta Man by Salt N Pepa feat. Vogue, Step by Step by New Kids On The Block. However, there are multiple songs from different timeframes of the 90’s and music genres that will appeal to many people who listen to various types of music. Comment | Permalink Lust For Life [feat. The Weeknd] Price: $1.29 A One of A Kind Avant-Garde Love Song, April 20, 2017 Verified Purchase(What's this?)This review is from: Lust For Life [feat. The Weeknd] (MP3 Music)I admit that I was first exposed to this unique Lust For Life song by Lana Del Rey feat. the Weeknd less than 18 hours ago (via youtube). The music collaboration is very well coordinated (when it comes to the lyrics of Lana Del Rey and the Weeknd) and the futuristic lounge/electronic music makes it a very novel type of love song. I also like that the Lust For Life song has both a hopeful and happy-go-lucky vibe. Comment | Permalink That's What I Like Price: $1.29 An Exquisite Dance/R&B type of song, April 20, 2017 Verified Purchase(What's this?)This review is from: That's What I Like (MP3 Music)I admit that this entertaining song That’s What I Like by Bruno Mars grew on me after multiple times of listening to it. It is a come hither/romantic type of song yet one of the positive features of the song is that it comes out in a imaginative love story type of tune. That’s What I Like by Bruno Mars is also perfect to listen to if you have liked andor enjoyed his Treasure song-it reminds me in an outstanding way of that song.
